What we collect, and how the ads work

No accounts, no comments, no tracking pixels of our own. This page covers the little we collect and the way advertising is kept away from the reviews.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and aggregate. It tells us which pages get read; it cannot tell us who you are. Cloudflare's edge keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser) to serve the site and block abuse.

Advertising

We sell ad space through Google's ad network. The auction is blind: we don't choose the advertisers, see them in advance, or know who bought space until the ad renders. Advertisers get no influence over what we review, no advance notice of scores, and no immunity from a bad one. Ads are labeled as ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve and measure ads based on your prior visits to this site and other sites; you can opt out of personalized advertising at adssettings.google.com or www.aboutads.info, and Google explains its use of data from partner sites at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Visitors in the EEA and UK see a consent prompt before any ad cookies are set.

Retailer links

"Where to buy" links go straight to the retailer. We add no tracking parameters to them.

Email

If you write to editors@mezcal.report we keep the thread so we can reply. Addresses are never sold and never added to a list you didn't ask for.

Age

This site is written for readers 21 and over.
