Verdict
If airport duty-free forces a choice, this is the 400 Conejos, the cuishe is the only agave in the range that makes it through the commercial dilution with a pulse. That's damning with faint praise and meant to be. The bottle argues for itself only against its own siblings; against any real mezcal at this price it disappears.
The least-bad 400 Conejos
Tasting notes
Nose: Faint cuishe vegetal note, cooked agave, soft smoke
Palate: Slightly better than the joven, the cuishe adds something the base espadín lacks
Finish: Faintly mineral
