Verdict
The copper-still arroqueño to beat if you aren't spending Real Minero or Lalocura money. 5 Sentidos' importer discipline keeps the honey-leather register from getting sanded smooth the way mid-tier arroqueños inevitably do – Del Maguey Vida-priced producers wouldn't even attempt this agave, and Bozal's version drinks like a caricature next to it. Buy it as the serious arroqueño entry point.
5 Sentidos makes arroqueño that earns the agave's reputation
Tasting notes
Nose: Dark honey with warm leather, mineral damp
Palate: Dense and layered at 47% – arroqueño presented with the producer's usual rigor
Finish: Mineral, warm – very long
The bottom line
A serious arroqueño in the specialty-importer tier
