Verdict
Cuishe and tepextate come from different agave families but share enough aromatic-mineral register that the ensamble drinks coherent instead of busy. Tío Tello at 45% delivers both agaves legibly, neither crowding the other – this is how ensambles work when the blender's judgment is actually there. Buy it as a study in what a maestro's hand is for.
Cuishe + tepextate is a natural pairing, and this is one of the best renderings
Tasting notes
Nose: Wildflower – then green pepper, wet stone, a faint herbal high note and trace of cooling mint
Palate: Aromatic at 45% – tepextate's lift over cuishe's mineral spine. The two agaves find a shared register where the tepextate's floral aromatics ride on the cuishe's vegetal foundation; Tío Tello's hand keeps both legible without letting either crowd the other out
Finish: Very long, cooling, drying, with a slow floral fade
