Verdict
5 Sentidos is the rare specialty label whose entry bottle is a credible argument for the whole project. Alberto Martínez's espadín is high-proof, careful, and priced for drinkers who have already moved past Vida and want to understand what small-import sourcing actually buys. The mineral saline register doesn't come from commercial espadín; it comes from producer discipline that makes economic sense only at this price tier. Consensus 3.5 is too modest.
Espadín at the top of what the cultivated category can do
Tasting notes
Nose: Green note over cooked agave, apple, warm stone, a light smoke
Palate: Dense and saline, more textured than a typical joven espadín, with the 5 Sentidos house discipline legible in the glass
Finish: Drying, mineral, long
The bottom line
A proper espadín from a serious importer. Climb the ladder from here
