Verdict
Two consensus ratings at 4.0 aligns with our read. Hernández and Barriga's Minas work is a known quantity, and this blend is a good example of it – nothing theatrical, much good technique. Compared with the neighboring Tobala y Tobaziche release, this one is drier and more austere; pick which side of karwinskii you want. Both are worth owning if you're deep in it.
Cuishe gives tobalá somewhere to stand
Tasting notes
Nose: Wildflower, wet rock, cucumber, a touch of green pepper
Palate: Cuishe's mineral spine plus tobalá's aromatic reach; at 48.5% through Minas clay the blend runs drier than the tobalá-tobaziche, more slate-tinged, less fruit-forward
Finish: Mineral, floral – long
The bottom line
Buy it as a drier alternative to the tobala-tobaziche
