Verdict
An ensamble built to put the word 'ensamble' on a shelf label. Banhez Ensamble at less money delivers more of every component, and the cuishe at 40% here is a suggestion rather than a structural addition. Agave Macho's line is engineered for the tier of drinker who reads labels, not bottles. Skip – the Banhez is the same shelf space and an actual ensamble.
Cuishe in an ensamble can carry more than you'd expect. Not here
Tasting notes
Nose: Faint green pepper, then cooked agave, light smoke
Palate: Thin at 40%; the cuishe adds a whisper of vegetal interest to a base that needs more
Finish: Short, cooling
The bottom line
Banhez Ensamble outperforms at similar money
