Reposado version of the same ensamble – aging adds nothing

- ABV: 40%
- Price: $90 ($$)
Verdict
An unnecessary line extension. Agave Macho's joven ensamble doesn't earn a reposado version; adding shorter oak-aging at 40% proof compounds the base problem without the longer añejo time to give the oak program any structural coherence. The line is a commercial shelf-filler. No consensus; reading at 2.
Aging thin mezcal gives you thin aged mezcal
Tasting notes
Nose: Vanilla, then faint cooked agave, soft oak
Palate: The oak dominates the already-diluted base at 40%
Finish: Sweet, oaky. Medium
