Verdict
Tobalá usually trades on delicacy, but at 48 to 51 percent Raul Garcia gives it some shoulders without losing the orange-blossom lift, the Miahuatlán minerality keeping the sweetness honest. It will not unseat a Del Maguey Tobalá for finesse. Pour it when you want the agave with more proof behind it.
Tobalá with the volume turned up
Tasting notes
Nose: Orange blossom, ripe stone fruit, wet earth, a faint honey
Palate: Round and floral at 48-51%, tobalá's sweetness checked by a dry mineral underside. Fuller than most tobalá at this proof
Finish: Medium-long, floral, clean
The bottom line
Pour it when delicate tobalá feels too quiet
