Verdict
Puntas and delicate herbal infusion don't cohere, the format fights itself. The zacate limón's citrus-grass subtlety that worked on the 47% Doña Erika bottle gets buried under 62.4% proof, and the result is a bottle that demonstrates the format's limits by crossing them. Skip and go back to the standard infusion; the puntas format belongs on agave-only releases.
Puntas flavoring rarely works
Tasting notes
Nose: Citrus grass, then hot alcohol, warm earth and a faint herbal high note
Palate: Concentrated and hot at 62.4% – the puntas strength overwhelms the zacate limón subtlety that makes the standard Doña Erika version work
Finish: Warming, with a slow bitter fade – endless
The bottom line
