Verdict

A fair, unremarkable ensamble – the Alipus equivalent of a house red. Bicuishe and espadín share enough register to cohabitate at 47%, and nothing in the glass demands anything of you. Pass if the numbered anniversary bottles are within reach; those are where Alipus actually makes a case for itself. This one is the floor, not the argument, buy it when the argument isn't the point.

Alipus' ensamble is the range's honest floor

Tasting notes

Nose: Cooked agave with a green pepper, mineral damp

Palate: Medium-weight at 47% – bicuishe and espadín in balance

Finish: Clean, dry

The bottom line

A working bottle at a working price
