Verdict
A strong Alipus anniversary release. Anastasio Aragón Martínez is a different San Andrés maestro than Don Valente Ángel; the two anniversary madrecuishes from the same village at similar proof (47.5%) are a clean study in single-palenque variation. Aragón Martínez's hand runs slightly drier and more mineral; Don Valente's is rounder. Both are legitimate. Community average matches. Buy alongside the Don Valente Ángel version for a maestro comparison.
Two San Andrés anniversaries, two different maestros, two different bottles worth having
Tasting notes
Nose: Dark honey with hot slate
Palate: Dense, a Miahuatlán-produced madrecuishe with clear weight
Finish: Mineral, drying, very long
The bottom line
A buy alongside the Don Valente Ángel version for a maestro comparison
