Amaras Logia Tobala
The Logia line is where Amaras earns the shelf space
Score: 3.5/5 agaves
- Producer: Amaras Mezcal
- Maestro: Doroteo Garcia
- Region: Tlacolula, Oaxaca
- Agave: Tobala
- ABV: 43%
- Price: $70 ($$)
Verdict
The Logia range is the argument for buying up the Amaras ladder. This tobalá is clean-faced and legible – not the most textured expression of the agave you'll find, but a credible one, and at its price tier a reasonable pick for someone easing into wild-harvested mezcal.

Tasting notes
Nose: Honey – then green melon, wet stone
Palate: Much brighter and more mineral than the entry Amaras – tobalá doing what tobalá does, cleanly presented. 43% ABV keeps it lifted
Finish: Dry, faintly herbal – long
The bottom line
A respectable gateway to tobalá if you can't find the bottles above it
