Verdict
Not at the El Jolgorio Coyote caliber but in the same conversation, which matters at this rare agave. The lavender and dark-fruit notes that define coyote's specific identity are both legible and supported by the proof's structural work. A credible coyote at a serious proof. Consensus 3.6 is low for what's in the bottle; we score it 3.5.
High-proof coyote is rarer than the standard, and worth hunting
Tasting notes
Nose: Lavender, dark fruit, hot slate, warm leather, a faint floral high note and trace of violet
Palate: Concentrated at 52.8%. Coyote's character, floral, mineral, aromatic – is amplified by the proof rather than masked
Finish: Unending. Floral, drying, stone, with a slow leather fade
The bottom line
Buy before it disappears from the market
