- ABV: 40%
- Price: $49 ($)
Verdict
If you can't taste San Luis del Rio in an SLDR bottle, the village label is doing work the liquid hasn't earned. Buen Suceso sits below the mineral spine that's the whole point of village bottling, a commercial-tier release that undersells its own terroir. Skip; Nuestra Soledad's SLDR is the same village done honestly.
Commercial SLDR doesn't do the village justice
Tasting notes
Nose: Faint smoke, pineapple candy and a trace of cooked sugar
Palate: Thin-bodied at 40% – commercial production on a village that can do much more
Finish: Sweet, with a faint smoke fade
The bottom line
Skip. Nuestra Soledad SLDR at similar-ish money is the upgrade
