Verdict

A strong heirloom azul. Azul telcruz is a heritage Jalisco subcategory of blue agave – genetically azul weber but grown and processed under pre-industrial methods the tequila industry abandoned. At 48.6% Chacolo's telcruz reads nothing like commercial blanco tequila; the heirloom production gives the agave a mineral register that tequila drinkers don't encounter in their familiar bottlings. The community agrees. A category education bottle for drinkers who think they know azul.

Telcruz is the azul subcategory
