Verdict
Chango Loco's wild-agave line is quietly stronger than the brand's name suggests, the whimsical label doing work against the bottle's actual seriousness. Juan's madrecuishe at 48% is where the agave gets to do its job instead of whispering it. Buy the Juan; the rest of the Chango Loco range hasn't argued for itself yet.
A middle-tier madrecuishe done right
Tasting notes
Nose: Dark honey, hot slate, warm earth
Palate: Madrecuishe's weight carried cleanly; dense at 48%
Finish: Drying, warm
The bottom line
A respectable madrecuishe
