Verdict
Ten consensus ratings at 3.9 is about where we land, the bottle is pleasant but the conceit of selling 'oven' as the feature is a marketing frame more than a tasting one. If you want smoky joven you can get it for less; if you want Ramirez's actual voice, his mexicanito or espadín releases do more work. A Del Maguey San Luis del Río at similar price delivers comparable smoke-and-sweet.
The pit oven is the main character, and it shows
Tasting notes
Nose: Cooked agave. Then wood smoke, faint caramel, dry herb
Palate: This release emphasizes the traditional pit-oven character rather than a specific agave; at 49.06% Anatolio Ramirez delivers a smoky, sweeter profile that reads more like classic joven than a single-agave showcase
Finish: Smoky, sweet
The bottom line
Pass. Ramirez's single-agave work is more revealing
