Verdict

Atelo Ramirez and Laura Arriaga do excellent pichomel work – the pichomel-papalome at the same palenque is a brighter, fuller statement. This blend is honest but slightly under-realized; if you're ensamble-shopping, the Azul y Pichomel from the same hands is a sharper buy. Not a failure, just the third pick in its own range.

Half a point of proof away from something really good

Tasting notes

Nose: Green grass, chalk, ripe pear, faint menthol

Palate: Pichomel needs volume to shine and at 47.31% you can feel the ceiling pressing down – the florals are there but not fully extended, and the espadilla's dry structure can't quite lift them

Finish: Herbal, slightly clipped. Stays medium

The bottom line

A pass in favor of the Azul y Pichomel; same palenque, more presence
