Cinco Sentidos Papalote - Jose Robledo
Mazatlán, Guerrero papalote at 50.3%. The proof does the work

- Producer: 5 Sentidos

- Agave: Papalote
- ABV: 50.3%
- Price: $70 ($)
Verdict
Three consensus reviews at 4.0 aligns. Robledo's Mazatlán release is a useful counterpoint to the other Guerrero papalotes in the 5 Sentidos roster – the proof alone gives it a more definitive register. Compared with Sánchez's or Miranda's versions, this is more commanding. Compared with Sonido's at 48.8%, similar but slightly more muscular. Buy it for the higher-proof corner of the Guerrero flight.
Papalote at 50%+ is what separates the reference from the rest
Tasting notes
Nose: Cooked agave, then wildflower, wet earth, dry pepper
Palate: At 50.3% this is among the higher-proof Guerrero papalotes in the catalog, and the aromatic carry is accordingly stronger – the signature fruit-floral lift extends further through the mid-palate than in the lower-proof variants
Finish: Long, warming, floral
The bottom line
Buy it. Guerrero papalote at the proof the agave wants
