Verdict
Espadilla is one of those rhodacantha subspecies that rarely gets its own bottle – Cuish gets credit for the release even when the liquid runs slightly reserved. Pour it if you're tracking agave varietals; reach past it to the Pantaleón López ensamble in the same catalog if you want the brand at full expression. Completist purchase, not destination.
A rhodacantha that plays it safe when the agave could stretch
Tasting notes
Nose: Green apple with a grassy top note
Palate: Rhodacantha expressions can run wild-sour or thin; at 48% the Trujanos' espadilla stays in the middle lane – approachable, clean, less distinct than the Cuish catalog's peaks
Finish: Clean, faintly sweet
The bottom line
For agave map-makers; skip if you're casual
