Verdict
Not every ensamble justifies itself but this one does – the espadín's sweetness and the karwinskii's mineral push into each other instead of past each other. Buy it as an everyday pour that's smarter than its price. Cuish's strength is the maestro-level attention even on workhorse bottles. The brand doesn't phone any of them in.
An ensamble where you can hear both agaves argue
Tasting notes
Nose: Cooked agave with green herbs, light smoke, a mineral edge
Palate: Espadín and karwinskii at 47% – José Santiago's cut is clean, and the karwinskii adds a vegetal tension the espadín alone would miss
Finish: Clean, faintly herbal
The bottom line
A weekday pour with weekend ambitions
