Verdict
Tobasiche done right is like good Chablis, it's about what isn't there. Francisco García León's Miahuatlán version at 47% is the karwinskii in the Cuish catalog worth spending real money on. Hunt it if you've loved Real Minero's tobasiche and can't find one. Reserved, specific, unrepeatable at other labels.
The karwinskii bottle that made me reread the maestro's name
Tasting notes
Nose: Crushed pine, celery, wet granite
Palate: Tobasiche is karwinskii's leaner cousin and at 47% Francisco García León shows why that leanness rewards patience, mineral, cool, bone-dry
Finish: Cool, slate-tinged, very long
The bottom line
Worth the chase. This is Cuish's karwinskii peak
