Verdict
Dixeebe is one of the small-production projects that rewards seeking out. The espadín at 52% ABV is confident in a way most commercial bottles cannot be – concentrated, not aggressive, and the texture is uncommonly dense for the category.
High-proof espadín is how you know a producer has something to say
Tasting notes
Nose: Warm citrus – then hot stone, sweet smoke
Palate: Dense, oily, with a clear line from nose to finish – Valentin Cortes is making adult espadín
Finish: Peppery, clean – very long
The bottom line
One of the best espadíns under $90. Buy the bottle if you find it
