Verdict
Not distinctive, not dishonest – a well-presented commercial bottle at commercial economics. 43% is two or three points above the 40% floor, which is the difference between distribution-tier failure and workable cocktail pour. Buy it for cocktail programs that want a mezcal that reads well on a list; don't expect anything more.
A working espadín dressed in brand polish for restaurants that want a pourable Oaxacan joven
Tasting notes
Nose: Warm stone first, then cooked agave, faint smoke, a trace of cooked sugar underneath
Palate: Clean at 43%. Standard commercial espadín with a couple extra proof points over the 40% category floor – the agave shows a shade more clearly and the mid-palate holds a little better
Finish: Dry, with a faint smoke fade
The bottom line
Fine for cocktail use
