Verdict
At $90-$150 this is expensive for espadín, and the comparisons get harder (you're now competing with village bottlings from other producers in the same price tier). But the Jolgorio discipline shows, and for a reference espadín it earns its place.
Espadín at its upper bound
Tasting notes
Nose: Sweet smoke with mineral damp
Palate: Rich and clean, with the small-village production bringing the texture up. 47% is right
Finish: Clean, warm, long
The bottom line
Expensive espadín done right. Chichicapa is the cheaper alternative
