Verdict
Jabalí at 50% is a legibly different bottle than jabalí at 46% – the difficult agave needs the extra proof to show its range. El Yope lands as competent containment rather than full expression. Buy Rey Campero's or Buen Camino's jabalí for the agave rendered at caliber; skip El Yope's unless it's the only jabalí on the shelf.
Jabalí deserves more proof than this bottle is willing to give it
Tasting notes
Nose: Hot stone, green pepper, herbal density
Palate: The Jabalí reads cleanly but the agave wants more proof to fully register; medium at 46%
Finish: Drying, with a slow herbal fade and a faint mineral tail – long
The bottom line
Rey Campero Jabalí outperforms meaningfully at higher proof
