Verdict
El Yope renders the Guerrero tepextate signature cleanly at a proof that doesn't undersell the agave's 25-year agronomy, the mid-tier version of the variety done without cutting corners. Buy it for the regional lesson; the Aguerrido or Mal Bien Guerrero papalote are the climbs if you want Guerrero wild agaves at full small-import caliber.
A Guerrero tepextate worth the shelf space for regional-category exposure and comparison work
Tasting notes
Nose: Wildflower, then wet stone, white pepper, a faint cooling-herb note
Palate: Aromatic at 46% – Guerrero tepextate has a slightly drier profile than Oaxacan versions, with less floral lift and more mineral weight
Finish: Cooling, drying, with a slow river rock fade and a faint floral tail, very long
The bottom line
Fine
