Verdict
Skip this if you came looking for mezcal – Elenita's passionfruit paloma is a pink summer drink that happens to contain trace mezcal, and the category confusion is the brand's problem, not the drinker's. As an RTD it's perfectly fine; as a mezcal it barely qualifies. Rate it against White Claw, not against Vida.
RTD paloma with mezcal as the flavoring footnote
Tasting notes
Nose: Passionfruit – then grapefruit, a whisper of mezcal smoke, a trace of cane sweetness
Palate: Sweet and soft at 5%. The agave base is a gesture under the fruit and soda water rather than a structural element, fine as an RTD paloma riff, not as mezcal
Finish: With a slow fruit fade. Short
