Verdict
At 42 percent this is the most approachable bottle in the Entre Maguey lineup, but Artemio Morales Cortés does not coast on the low proof. Espadín gives the base, madrecuishe the dry mineral lift, and they meet in the middle without going soft. Pour it for the friend stepping up from Vida who wants karwinskii before the proof climbs on them.
A low-proof ensamble that still says something
Tasting notes
Nose: Green herb, wet limestone, cooked agave, citrus peel, a faint smoke
Palate: Balanced and approachable at 42%. Espadín's cooked-agave base lifted by madrecuishe's dry karwinskii minerality, gentle but defined
Finish: Medium-long, mineral, clean
The bottom line
Pour it as an easy step into karwinskii
