Verdict
Most reposado mezcal is a misdemeanor against the agave, oak imported to cover production sins. Single Cask Nation's Fidencio is the counterexample: at 53.4% the proof is load-bearing, the barrel stays in the passenger seat, and the espadín is still the one driving. Track it down if you want proof that aged mezcal can be a form rather than a cover story.
Reposado done strictly for once
Tasting notes
Nose: Warm spice with cooked agave, soft vanilla
Palate: The 53.4% proof gives the oak something to integrate with, the wood lands as accent, not dominant voice
Finish: Warm, complex. Stays very long
