Verdict
Pour this as an introduction to tobalá, then graduate to Banhez or a Real Minero release – Fidencio's version is reasonable and competently made, but it points drinkers toward the higher-proof references rather than holding its ground against them. A credible category-entry bottle that knows its lane. Consensus 3.4 matches; this is a first-tobalá pour, not a desert-island pick.
A respectable mid-tier tobalá from a disciplined producer
Tasting notes
Nose: Wildflower. Then sweet smoke, ripe citrus
Palate: Aromatic at 45%. Fidencio's production is disciplined, but the lower proof limits how fully the tobalá develops – the aromatics are intact, the texture thins out where higher-proof tobalás hold their mid-palate weight
Finish: Floral, drying, with a slow honey fade
The bottom line
Fine as a tobalá category introduction
