Verdict
Skip this – Firme is optimizing for price tier over character, which is a legitimate commercial decision that produces an unmemorable bottle. Nothing distinctive shows up in the glass; the espadín is legible only in outline. Against Vida, which built the cocktail-mezcal lane honestly, Firme has no equivalent argument. No consensus; our 2.5 is the floor for a bottle that chose this.
Commercial espadín at commercial proof, from a producer capable of more
Tasting notes
Nose: Cooked agave, faint smoke, a trace of cooked sugar
Palate: Commercial-tier production at commercial-tier proof. The agave is legitimate, the production is clean, and the bottle clears the distribution-tier bar without reaching above it; thin at 42%
Finish: With a faint smoke fade, short
