ForeverOax Joven

Ejutla espadín at commercial proof – a merch bottle in a mezcal jacket

Score: 2.5/5 agaves

ForeverOax Joven bottle
  • Region: Ejutla, Oaxaca
  • Agave: Espadin
  • ABV: 40%
  • Price: $50 ($)

Verdict

Branded bottles at 40% are a marketing format, not a mezcal format. ForeverOax comes through like travel-retail merch – fine for a gift shop, outflanked at its price by Banhez or even a supermarket Fidencio. Pass and spend the same money on Vida.

Tasting notes

Nose: Cooked agave. Then mild smoke, light vanilla

Palate: 40% is the giveaway: everything Ejutla espadín can do, smoothed into a mid-shelf shape. Clean but forgettable, with a sweetness that carries as target market rather than agave

Finish: Simple, sugary. Short

The bottom line

Pass. Vida does this cheaper and better
