Gozona Coyote
Coyote in refrescador – americana rarity done seriously

- Agave: Coyote
- ABV: 49%
- Price: $70 ($$)
Verdict
Coyote drinkers recognize each other by how little they compromise. Gozona delivers the agave at its actual weight – not the pretty version Rey Campero tends to make, the one that tastes like the field. At refrescador-still pricing it's not cheap, but for coyote-forward drinking it's a top-shelf entry.

Tasting notes
Nose: Roast tomato, dried herbs, scorched cocoa, cooked agave
Palate: Coyote is one of the wilder americanas – meatier than arroqueño, sharper than sierra negra. 49% refrescador-distilled delivers it with oil and savor; nothing sanded
Finish: Herbal, warming
The bottom line
A buy if coyote is your lane
