Verdict

Flavored mezcal works when the fruit reframes the agave (Vago Elote, Bozal Cempasúchil); it fails when the fruit replaces the agave. This is the second category. A beach-bar bottle that's been dressed in the vocabulary of a real one. Category-adjacent at best.

Infused mezcal that still wants to be called mezcal

Tasting notes

Nose: Unmistakable mango candy, soft smoke underneath

Palate: Sweet and fruity, the mezcal is a structural prop for the fruit

Finish: Syrupy – short
