Grulani Arroqueno

Guélavila arroqueño – dense americana at proof that earns the agave

Verdict

Grulani has quietly become one of Guélavila's most consistent houses. Leonardo Hernandez's arroqueño earns the americana category without theatrics, denser than the Fuego y Humo version, less polished than Rey Campero. Buy it as a working arroqueño at a fair price.

Tasting notes

Nose: Dark cocoa, then dried herb, cooked agave, leather

Palate: 46% Guélavila arroqueño with the characteristic cocoa-earth weight – Leonardo Hernandez doesn't polish the edges, and the liquid reads all the better for it

Finish: Savory, warming, long

The bottom line

A buy. A reliable arroqueño
