Verdict

A three-agave ensamble that makes the case for Santos as a maestro worth naming. Tepextate usually dominates the mix; here it enhances rather than erases. One of the better ensambles Gusto Histórico has released in any year.

Tasting notes

Nose: Wet stone, then green pepper, cut grass, dried flowers, cooked agave

Palate: The tepextate brings the herbal snap on top; cuishe carries the mineral mid; milpa espadín provides the body. 46.6% is exactly the proof where the three voices stay distinct

Finish: Herbal, stone – very long

The bottom line

Worth tracking. Standout ensamble
