Verdict
Puntas releases are usually novelty – Gusto Histórico treats them as intent. Emanuel Ramos's 57% tepextate is the anti-commercial bottle: concentrated rather than aggressive, demanding a real sipping posture, and rewarding the drinker who gives it one. Don't open this for new-to-mezcal guests. Save it for the person who's earned the shelf.
A tepextate that insists you meet it where it lives
Tasting notes
Nose: Hot pepper with cracked stone, a vapor of lanolin
Palate: 57% would incinerate most bottles; here it feels correct. Emanuel Ramos has pulled a concentrated, volatile, almost medicinal version of marmorata that trades prettiness for intensity
Finish: Enormous, peppery, slow
The bottom line
Hunt it, and drink it neat in small pours
