Verdict
Every Matatlán project needs an espadín that works, and Hedonistas de la Fe's lands roughly where the Vida espadín lands on the map – dependable, at working proof, unflashy. It's not the bottle that'll make you evangelize Kaín Santiago, but it's the bottle that tells you he's a careful hand. Buy as a bar-well upgrade; don't make it the tasting-room centerpiece.
A baseline espadín at the right proof and the right price
Tasting notes
Nose: Cooked agave with light citrus, honey
Palate: 46% – clean, fruity Matatlán espadín, middle-of-the-road in both intensity and character. Does everything you'd expect
Finish: Warm, clean
The bottom line
Buy as a working-shelf Matatlán espadín
