Verdict
La Medida's tobaziche is the best of the brand's karwinskii set – the single-maestro bottling from Díaz Bustamante has the focus the madrecuishe and bicuishe lack, and the karwinskii signature sits as green stone rather than green produce. Cuish's tobaziche is still more concentrated; this one is leaner and arguably more honest to the agave. Consensus 4.0; we agree.
Tobaziche is karwinskii's edged tool. This one keeps the edge
Tasting notes
Nose: Green herb up front. Chalk, bright citrus peel underneath
Palate: Sharp-edged and mineral. Tobaziche runs drier than bicuishe or madrecuishe; Díaz Bustamante's production keeps the karwinskii bite productive and the midpalate clean without softening it
Finish: Cooling, chalky, with a slow herbal fade
The bottom line
Buy. Lean, honest tobaziche from a single maestro
