Verdict
47% is appropriate. Lalocura's cuishe is one of the category's clearer demonstrations of what the clay still does to an agave, side by side with a copper-still cuishe (Vago at similar price, Rey Campero lower tier) the textural difference is immediate. Clay adds density that copper can't; the cuishe's karwinskii lightness still comes through but with structural weight underneath. Consensus 4.4 is accurate. A category-education bottle.
Clay-still cuishe is a different conversation than copper-still cuishe
Tasting notes
Nose: Green pepper, wet stone, damp leaf, faint citrus
Palate: Denser and more mineral than typical cuishe, the clay still adds textural depth copper-still cuishe cannot reach
Finish: Drying, cooling – long
The bottom line
The thinking drinker's cuishe
