Verdict

Two-agave ensambles hide nothing – every blending decision is visible. Lalocura's tobaziche-espadín at 49% lets the tobaziche ride on the espadín's spine instead of fighting for room, which is the part that sounds easy and almost never is. A quieter Lalocura, and one of the better shelf-price entries into the range.

Two-agave ensambles often outperform four-agave ones

Tasting notes

Nose: Green pepper with pine, faint smoke

Palate: Lean and focused. At 49%, the espadín adds sweetness without dulling the tobasiche

Finish: Drying, cooling

The bottom line

A legitimate Lalocura at a reasonable shelf price
