Puntas are the first sharp run off the still, usually blended back for balance; bottling them straight at 63 percent is a dare. Silvestre Ramírez's verde puntas is concentrated green high notes and heat, closer to an experience than a casual pour. A few drops of water and it blooms. Skip it if high proof scares you; hunt it if that is exactly the point.

Tasting notes

Nose: Green agave, acetone lift, citrus oil, hot stone, crushed herb

Palate: Searing and bright at 63%. Puntas concentrate the volatile high notes, so the gentryi reads as pure green intensity, citric and mineral, with real heat

Finish: Very long, hot, herbal, cooling late
