Verdict
Cuishe is an agave that rewards a producer with patience and punishes one without it. Leyendas' cuishe is technically fine – the proof is defensible, the signature is there – but compared to Real Minero's or Lalocura's cuishe, the bottle feels like a karwinskii entry-point rather than a definitive statement. A decent introduction if price matters; not where the agave peaks.
A clean cuishe that reads more sketch than study
Tasting notes
Nose: Green pepper, wet clay, light smoke, dry herbs
Palate: The cuishe character – that lean, vegetal, karwinskii signature – is legible but undersung. 48.8% is a proof most cuishe benefits from; here it reads as a floor rather than a statement
Finish: Drying, faintly bitter. Medium
The bottom line
Competent cuishe. Trade up if you can
