Verdict
Pichomel is a regional name for a marmorata expression that rarely escapes Puebla palenques, which makes Leyendas' decision to bottle it its own kind of argument. The liquid is cool and high-pitched in a way that reads slightly more disciplined than Oaxacan tepextate, less wild menthol, more composed herb. A collector's bottle that earns the shelf space. Track it if you're past tepextate and want the dialect.
A marmorata dialect most shelves don't carry
Tasting notes
Nose: Wild mint, then pine, stone fruit, a sweet-tart lift
Palate: Tepextate-adjacent but distinct, the Puebla pichomel carries a cooler, greener expression than classic Oaxacan tepextate. 48.2% gives it the aromatic altitude it needs
Finish: Herbal, drying, long
The bottom line
A worthwhile agave-geek pickup
