Verdict
The problem with a commercial reposado is that a flat base doesn't gain structure from the barrel, just more notes. Amantes' Reposado is an honest product and a perfectly drinkable aperitif, but you're still paying for the bottle.
Aging added flavor without adding weight
Tasting notes
Nose: Soft vanilla, pear, pale smoke, subtle oak
Palate: The oak adds a decorative sweetness to a base that was already sweet; nothing structurally deepens
Finish: Warm, oaky
The bottom line
Gift-bottle territory at best
