Verdict
Tobalá at 46% is where the conversation actually starts, and Los Cuerudos is one of the quieter producers proofing the agave where it belongs. The bottle reads closest to 5 Sentidos' entry tobalá work: clean, potatorum-honest, not decorated. You can go higher up the ladder – Real Minero waits there – but this is a credible first or second tobalá purchase.
A tobalá at real proof from a producer that doesn't shout
Tasting notes
Nose: Honey, green melon, wet stone, wildflower
Palate: The potatorum's bright mineral signature lifts cleanly over a 46% frame. The liquid behaves the way tobalá should when nobody is trying to prettify it – aromatic, faintly austere, alive
Finish: Dry, lightly floral – long
The bottom line
One of the more honest tobalás at its tier
