Verdict
Los Perditos is one of the small-producer names that rarely makes it onto coastal shelves, and the arroqueño is the bottle that explains why it should. At 49.8% the americana family weight is fully rendered and the house has let the agave speak without cleaning it up. Think Lalocura's arroqueño: same category, same commitment. Hunt this one; it doesn't come around often.
Arroqueño at still proof, no editing
Tasting notes
Nose: Dark chocolate, then warm stone, dried plum, cocoa nib
Palate: At 49.8% the arroqueño arrives with every dimension the agave has, dense, slow, mineral-sweet in the signature americana register. Los Perditos hasn't tried to gentle the agave, which is the right decision
Finish: Warming, chocolatey, long
The bottom line
An arroqueño worth the hunt
