Verdict
The single verde shows you salmiana's nervy green edge; this ensamble shows what a second altiplano agave does for it. Cuerno fills the mid-palate the verde leaves open, and the result reads rounder without giving up the regional mineral snap. Pour the two side by side and the case for blending highland agaves makes itself.
Cuerno gives the verde a body to stand on
Tasting notes
Nose: Green herb, anise, damp limestone, a faint dairy note, cooling mint
Palate: Broader than the straight verde. Cuerno rounds the vegetal spine with a fuller, almost waxy middle, still mineral and bright at ~50%
Finish: Herbal, dry, long, with a peppery tail
The bottom line
Buy the pair and taste them against each other
